Professional, not Pretentious If you want excellent service in comfortable surroundings, without the sticker shock, phony accents, and 'phouphee' attitude, give this place a whirl. They make me comfortable, keep me comfortable, and make sure I look my best (such as it is) when I leave. My hair is curly and vanishing: Kym never goes on auto-pilot, and always delivers the cut my changing, challenging hair requires. High-quality service in a friendly environment. Works for me!
Finally found the best stylist in town! After trying a number of "it" DC salons over the past years I finally found my perfect salon in Old Town. The salon itself is very warm and inviting. It never feels overly crowded and I never feel like I'm being rushed as I did in so many larger salons. I can completely relax with a cup of coffee as my hair is being done. Great haircuts/color and fun people too! I have been seeing my hairstylist, Kym for 12 years (or more) and have followed her as she has changed locations. However a few years back she and Spike teamed up to open their own shop where they do fabulous work along with the help of other stylists. I highly recommend Aquilano Artistry.
Great place to go I have been going to Aquilano for a few years and I love it. Kym cuts and highlights my hair and she does an absolutely wonderful job. I wouldn't consider going anywhere else and have recommended Kym and the entire salon to others.
Love Aquilano! I can't say enough great things about Aquilano. I knew Spike when he worked with Mac. I thought he was a great stylist then, and he's a great owner now. Kym has been my stylist for more than a decade and I have to say, no matter where she goes I would follow her - she's that good!! They've created a wonderful atmosphere: not too big that you get lost in the numbers, but they have the latest, hippest styles and techniques. Not to mention great products.
Go here for great hair and service! Aquilano is a 'cut above the rest'- I am never disappointed with my hair, or my experience, in this salon. From the great people, to the glass of wine, wireless internet, and newly redecorated interior, this place is a gem!

Great place to go for haircut and/or color I have been going to Aquilano for over a year now. I love it. The stylists are wonderful. I get my hair styled and colored by Kym. Everyone is friendly .... Parking is convenient which is a big plus for Old Town.
