Where to start. Every window and door is unsealed and the draft just comes sailing through. If you have the money for an electric bill in the upper $200 to low $300 range then you make too much to live their. For a low income housing development it costs more than taking out a loan on a house. The staff is unfriendly. I have had to maintenance people walk in unannounced for no reason. On move-in day my apartment wreaked heavily of cigarette smoke and management acted as if they couldn't smell it. Had ants crawling into our apartment from a crack in the ceiling. Maintenance was sent over to fix it and they set out food to attract them but didn't bother to move anything around which led to 100s of ants all over my bed and in my sheets. After undergoing a 2 month application process with the leasing company here, they had pre-qualified us for a 2 bedroom apartment for myself, my husband and our 7 month old son. We gave them our income information and everything else they asked for. At no point during these conversations did they inform us that we were over the income guidelines. I wanted to rent an apartment from these people as they are very nice but the management staff are very disorganized and rude. Every time I called I received a different move in date and the price for rent kept changing. When asked for explanation Katie got very defensive and since then we haven't received a return call.
Nice area anytime I have drove threw property is clean and picked up
I lived at Avalon Lakes for five years until relocating out of state in June of 2015. My experience was entirely different from those posted here, so I am not sure of the reason for the vast difference. I found the office staff to always be helpful and friendly, and my maintenance needs were handled rapidly. The management was very quick to deal with issues such as trash or dog waste, and the lawn care and snow removal were excellent. Please do not waist your time. My move in date is tomorrow and I have not once seen my appartment nor signed my lease and they won't return any of your phone calls so don't hold your breath the lady's in the office are deffentily only there because of there looks most unprofessional people I've ever felt with. Don't move in here. The ground crew walk inside your apartment without warning. There was a arrest made of a maintenance guy for using his master key to go into peoples apartments when they were at work and stealing their pills.. They even made us remove the American Flag from our porch!!!DO NOT MOVE IN HERE... HUGE MISTAKE!!!
This apartment complex needs more than help. The need for better management/maintenance is critical. You get a notice on your door for the most ridiculous stuff. They won't fix things as they should be but rather patch them up. You have to clean your shower and Window seals everyday to keep the mold from coming through. When it was time for inspection the management had maintenance come around and put kilz over mold residue and caucking around the tub so the mold wouldn't show.
