I am an old fashioned family doctor. We consider the treatment and management of common chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, osteoarthritis, and acute illnesses to be our responsibility. In addition, I have a special interest in autism and learning disorders in children and adults. It is important to have those routine checkups as well, to catch issues before they become problems.

Dr. Chu made my visit feel very transactional. Felt more like a customer than a patient. She sent me away with lab work and absolutely no instructions as to what they were for, if I should fast before, or where to go to have it done. Lab facility was appointment only, which is another thing I was not informed on. I still don’t even know if I was at the right location. Ordered a prescription without informing me. Overall not a good experience, will not be following up with another appointment due to not feeling “cared for”.
She has been my Dr. for several years. I have always had excellent care from her.
This office makes things hard on everyone. If paperwork is needed, mail it to the patient so it’s already completed. I needed a telehealth appointment. Instead they make me jump through hoops to find transportation to go to her office for a 5 minute in and out. This could have been done over the phone or tablet. If you need medication, this is the doctor for you. New patients keep looking. Quack. Quack.
Dr. Chu has been my primary care physician for 20+ years. She is very knowledgeable and caring, listens to my history and concerns, and responds to my questions without getting offended as if I'm questioning her expertise (as some doctors do).
We scheduled a routine physical which was covered 100% under our insurance. Dr. Chu's office coded it differently and refused to recode. Her office explained that something during our routine physical turned it into a different type of exam. They refuse to tell us what that is. Their office is non-responsive, they will take a message and never call back. 3 months of phone calls and I still can not get someone on the phone to explain why they performed an exam other than what we scheduled
Dr Ann Chu is friendly enough. We don't go to a doctor for friendship but for treatment and prevention. She has very strong beliefs about vaccinations and given her experience, this suits her. However, if you don't agree, she will be uncomfortable treating you or your (healthy)children. Also, she has told us things that aren't correct. Example, it's fact MMR vaccine is a mixture of live attenuated viruses of three diseases. When we brought up our apprehension of this, she assured the opposite..
Steady intelligent care over time with an open nature to patient input.
Dr. Chu has always been very practical and personal, and honest. We all appreciate her.
