I have to add my two cents here about one of the other podiatrists on staff, Donald Scot Malay, DPM, who has taken care of me since 1994. He is also a genius, very compassionate, and loves his patients and helping them get better. If it was not for Dr. Malay, I would literally be in a wheelchair by now. He and Dr. Downey went to school together and stayed in touch for many years and are now working together and they make a good pair. Great Dr. – Dr. Downey is a very very good Dr. and really knows his stuff. His office staff however is the WORST
Doctor excellent/secretary the worst – Dr. Downey is wonderful. Did reconstructive ankle surgery over 9 years ago and I really have had minimal problems. The main complaint is there rude/condescending and unhappy receptionist. You always feel like you are bothering if you call (and I have only called 3 times in 9 years!). Parking isn't great either especially considering most people are limping in and you WAIT FOREVER!
Best Foot and Ankle Care in the Delaware Valley – I agree with the previous reviews and wanted to add my own two cents worth here. I saw Dr. Downey for my painful bunions and toes and after trying non-surgical care, he fixed both of my painful feet with surgery. He is BY FAR THE BEST DOCTOR I HAVE EVER BEEN TOO!! Dr Feet – Michael Downey is a genius, the one to go to when no one else has a clue. You have to have the intestinal fortitude of a Marine though to survive the endless waiting and downright evil office staff.
Great Foot and Ankle Doctor – Highly recommended - you won't be disappointed! Dr. Downey is well respected and the author of a major textbook on Foot and Ankle Surgery. He is competent and compassionate.
