After finding Nash, the best dog in, well the history of dogs. He passed on and I was heart broken. But I came in and found Andy (Jr, as I am also an Andy) the second best dog in the history of dogs. Why AHNM? Because they totally rock. They know the animals and can help you find just the right match. And between the staff and volunteers, you just know they are loved and taken care of once they enter their doors. So lightning does strike twice.
I haven't been to Animal Humane in years and we just adopted a cat this past weekend. It was a great experience! The staff was friendly, the kitty areas were inviting and clean. Our kitty has an upper respiratory infection and we had to go back to their vet clinic today and that was an equally good experience. I was so impressed that the vet actually talked about his immune system and prescribed probiotics and l-lysine. She asked if I wanted antibiotics or to wait, which was refreshing as well. Back in December my 18 year old Russian Blue Ashie was trying to hold on even though he was going through a lot of health issues. They were kind and understanding of the situation. They gave us a private room to say our goodbyes, and didn't rush us during the process. He was with me for half my life, so it was hard to say goodbye. But they treated us with care.
