YUMMY!!!! – I've been to Angelo's a few times and have not been disapointed. Their chicken parm sandwich is so so so good! Last time I went I had a calzone and it was to die for!! It was so good! Now I find myself craving them!! You should definately try the calzones!! AMAZING!!!
Delicious Local Eats – Angelo's is a mainstay among my family's selection of local dine-in, delivery, and takeout pizza/Italian food. Some of the reviews posted complain of "cold, tasteless pizza" or "smoky atmosphere" or "gross." These reviews are simply unfair and inaccurate. This is not east coast pizza, but it is quality, hand-crafted, fresh pizza prepared with care. It is unique. Also, as a big fan of meatball sandwiches, I frequently tell friends and acquaintences that Angelo's version is easily in the top 5 in Denver.... read more
Casual and Cozy – I'm mostly posting this because the "angry poster" review made me mad. My husband and I live within walking distance of Angelo's and enjoy eating there when we want to take our time having a sit-down but casual meal. The pizza may not be the best I've ever had, but it's really good. Lots of good ingredients -- and they don't skimp on the toppings. Our favorite thing to do is get salads, split a pizza and share a caraffe of their house chianti. Tirimisu is pretty good, too.
Yuck pizza, expensive restaurant – What in the world is wrong with Denverites' tastebuds? I am telling you, anyone who has had REALLY good pizza in their lifetime would never in a million years claim they like this place. Angelo's does not make a good pizza. Period. I have had their pizza twice. I went here out of desperation b/c it was the only thing open the night of the snowstorm. I wish I saved my $$$. The drinks are expensive including everything else on the menu. Dominos or a frozen is comparable. Maybe Denver needs to... read more
Good food, better service – Whereas I agree that the food isn't mind-blowing, it is certainly still a tasty italian meal in my humble opinion. But what truly brings me back to Angelo's is the warm family feel, and the consistently outstanding, friendly service. Not to mention, its nice to support a local, family-owned business whenever possible.
This would-be dive on 6th Avenue hides some of the city's best pizza and calzones. – In Short The door opens into a narrow entryway, where you customers up pizzas or wait for a table. This is a comfortable joint, with a jukebox, several tables and diner-style booths. The clientele is mostly young Governor's Park neighborhood couples. Crispy pizza crusts topped with spicy sauce and several different ingredients are Angelo's trademark, although they also offer a popular Italian menu including huge calzones or homemade noodles ... read more
exceptionally mediocre pasta, cheap wine – The flavors here are bland and boring. Marinara sauce tasted like...tomato sauce, nothing subtle or interesting about it. The spinach manicotti filling tasted like ricotta or maybe cottage cheese. The tiramisu had a sweet gloppy cream topping, with none of the interesting flavors I'd expect. All in all, a very uninteresting, mediocre pasta meal, unattractive presentation. My friend had chicken parmesan that arrived lukewarm and had to be sent back for reheating. I'd be willing to be... read more
Great Pizza – OK I will say the sauce is great and the homemade sausage and meatballs are super. Decent jukebox as well and maybe the best service in Denver.
Over-Priced – This joint is expensive, kinda run-down looking, there is NO HAPPY HOUR, and the tables feel sticky.
