Outdated, worn-out decor. Iffy service, etc. NOT MUCH TO LIKE.

Not that good at all – Had pasta bolognese. Pasta was over cooked! If half of your menu consists of pasta, you should know how to cook it properly. Sauce was not authentic. Bolognese is a sauce made with milk, white wine, mirepoix, and tomato product such as tomato paste. Usually made with veal and pork which is actually lightly blended into the sauce with an emersion blender. Their bolognese was marinara with cream and a couple small balls of sausage spooned over watery over cooked linguine. Minestrone soup had no flavor wh... read more

Angelos – I live about a baseball throw from Angelo's. So of course I go there a lot but I've never been disappointed at any time. I love their pizza. One of the best. The staff is nice and service is fast. And to the people who "just moved into the neighborhood" up there: First of all, I hate when you yuppie noobs move into my 'hood looking for the "urban experience" yet you still want your f__ing Macaroni Grills and Applebees. (insert vomit here) Angelo's is like a lot of the east coast neighborhood joints I grew up with. O... read more

Comfortable but no wow factor – I've been going to Angelo's for years but not because I love their food but rather because of the relaxed atmosphere. Yes, the service is slow but you don't feel rushed. The food is alright. You can get a calzone that's just as good if not better at and Old Chicago or get a better tasting pizza from Black Jack or Famous. But, if you're more into the vibe of a place this is a good place. It feels like you're in a place with history.

To Be Avoided – Expensive, sticky tables, no happy hour, run-down looking, very s-l-o-w service. This place needs an extreme makeover.

Wonderful neighborhood old-school italian – I've been going to Angelo's for 20 years. It is very good American-Italian food of an old-fashioned variety. They have quality ingredients, delicious red sauce, a nice variety of menu items other than their fine pizza & calzones, wonderful salads. Nice patio, nice table wine, friendly staff, comfortable atmosphere inside.

Children should not be in a restaurant kitchen – We've been to Angelo's a few times since moving into the neighborhood, but after our last experience we won't be going back. The food is ok, not the best Italian but fine for a cheap meal. On 3/21 we were seated next to a family I assume was the owner's that included three women, one man, and two young boys. Throughout our meal I watched as one of the boys ran around, played with his toys on the floor, ran his hands through the man's hair...and then went into the kitchen and p... read more

One of my favorite places to dine. – I eat at Angelo's fairly often. It is one of my favorite local eateries. The food is tasty and always hot. The service is the best in Denver. Yes, I'm even talking better than places like North or Barolo Grill. You will not find a friendlier staff. If you are starving, no problem, you always get your food quickly. The wine is inexpensive and decent. Ask for the thin crust pizza with meatball, sliced tomato and jalapeno. It's my favorite. Also, Denver does not allow smoking in restaurants ... read more

Good but not great. – The Pizza Trio went to Angelo's and ordered garlic cheese bread, a large italian salad and two pizza's. The bread was so-so ... it was a loaf split in half with a lot of seasonings on top and some cheese (although it didn't taste very garlicky and could have been cheesier.) The salad was enough to share with three people and there were lots of goodies (carrots, cucumbers, pepperoni, cheeses, etc.) on the salad and I believe the dressings were home made and were quite good (we got ranch and vinagarette.)... read more
