A must go to when in NY – This was by far one of the best Italian resturants that I have had the pleasure of dining at. On recent trip to New York, my wife and I decided to go here based on the recomendation of a couple of fireman. They were right when that said it was good. I highly recomend the lobster raviloi and would definatily go back to try soemthing different, but who know most likely will get the same thing.
Overcharged – Be careful of how you order and know what you're being charged for! We wanted to share an antipasto plate. The server asked us "For how many people?" and we told him we wanted enough for 6 people (there were 8 in our party). The people we were with had been to Angelo's several times before and had ordered the antipasto plate frequently. It is normally usually enough for 2 people to share. The antipasto is $14 and priced similarly as all their other appetizers. They brought out two platters that looked to be abo... read more
Angelo's was great, we had so much fun! – First time in NYC, made reservations per friends recommendations. We were 15 minutes late for our 8 pm reservation, which I called to let them know. We were seated immediately, sat right outside the door, which was great for people watching and fresh air. Very crowded inside, just what you'd expect on an October Friday night in Little Italy. Waiters were very attentive, even the ones across the street! The food was wonderful, both portions and taste. I had The Mozzarella di Bufala al... read more
Great food – Yes, you have to wait with a reservation, especially during the holidays, we did for one hour. Yes, its crowded. But, its fun. The waiters are great , the portions are huge. The hot and cold antipasto was excellent, big huge jumbo yummy shrimp, stuffed eggplant with way too much ricotta, baked clams etc etc...a cold plate of great parmigaino reggiano and some cold cuts with great marinated olives was also excellent. They give u giant bowls of seafood and pasta, very tasty with light fresh sauces, ours was not ov... read more
Va fongu-Take out only – This place is alright if you want to have a bad time with the staff. They overbill so watch your receipt. Take out only. Check out Reagan's photo in front of the bar, you'll have a laugh. The food is so-so, go to other restaurants in Mulberry and youll have the same fare but with a MUCH better service, I guess in order to have a better time you must either be "connected" or a friend of la famiglia. The maitre d' should maybe be a foot taller to have the attitude he has, if he wasn't a senior citizen ... read more
Stay AWAY! – I have registered with Citysearch JUST to warn everyone to stay away from this restaurant! The Maitre d' is quite possibly the RUDEST in New York. I have eaten here once, and reluctantly attempted a second time only to leave because of the terrible service. The nepotistic Maitre d was unbelievably rude both times, and the food was most definately not good enough to offset the mistreatment; reservations are pointless as he never honors them. The food was typical Little Italy style Italian food. Very classic, by n... read more
An old favorite – There's a reason Angelo's has been here for 100 years. Consistantly good food, reasonable portions at reasonable prices. The staff can occasonally be surly, especially during busy weekends, but that comes with the territory. Expect long waits on weekends, even with reservations. I highly recommend this old family favorite.
first ever – this restaurant was the very first Italion eatery that served a blue crab pasta sauce. When I saw it on the menu I didn't beleive it and was not expecting the real thing. This was the real thing. Salute' to Angelo and staff. Great place. An experienced waiter/waitress can usually read a good order/good tip, bad order/bad tip. You get what you deserve.
Great food - great service – Our original party of 7 became a party of 9 with two people coming late. They actually saved a table for them while the resturant was quickly filling up. Portions were generous and food was excellent!
