All the things the hospice nurse told me were very important to do in caring for my parent when they had cancer were not done at this facility. "If they don't have a bm every day give them a laxative" NOT DONE. But lots of morphine and every meal had an offer of cheese. When I asked the doctor about it the response I got was "We don't concern ourselves with that." "Reposition every 2 hours" Left sitting in a chair more than 24 hours.

I have worked with the Hospice Center twice, sadly, and I have to say this is an excellent facility and the people of Maine are very lucky to have it. There is an aura of dignity and peace throughout and the staff are caring beyond belief. I would wish for anyone with a dying family member to work with the excellent staff and to be comforted by the beautiful surroundings.
