(please read) Don't come here if you want: – 1. Lies 2. Cheap service 3. Costly misdiagnosis This is my second time going to him. The first time he helped me pass my emissions test (major nightmare for me prior to giving up and going to a pro). This time I took my 1994 Isuzu Trooper in & paid about $160.00 for Luis from Andres Auto Repair Service to do some troubleshooting after I had my transmission allegedly "rebuilt" by National Transmission Technologies on Grand east of Pulaski. National Trans actually reamed me a new @$... read more

Fair Honest and Good Work – I have a 2003 Jaguar XJR. It's well out of warranty and spent most of 2010 bleeding money. I kept taking it back to the dealer who kept charging me outrageous dealer prices to fix it. Finally, I got so tired of paying these costs that I started doing research on parts, hours of labor per fix, etc before bringing my car in for repair. After comparing 6 shops prices, Andre's offered me the best price. They ended up doing great work. Luis is a fair and honest guy who did what ever he could to keep my... read more

Quality, Honest, Personable! – Quality, Honest, Personable. I own a 2001 Audi 2.8 A4 Quattro. A very nice vehicle in my opinion and I absolutely love it. I take great care of my vehicles and try to keep them in tip-top shape, so choosing a repair shop other than the dealership was hard for me to do. I didn't have time to shop around and because of the condition our economy is in right now I really didn't have the money to take it to a dealership. After researching shops online I came across Andres Auto Service. Based off the... read more

Very, very bad service! – I took my car there relaying on the reviews. I have a Audi that just came out of extended warranty. The problem was a check engine light on the dash and I had to pass the emission test. The owner told me it is a oxygen sensor and it will cost me about $300. OK , I agreed to do the job and picked up my car two days later. On my way home the light came on again, I didn't have to drive it for more than an hour! I took the car back to see if maybe they disconnect something. They looked at the car, clear... read more

Honest business, honest mechanics – When I first moved to Chicago, I was looking for the best mechanics that could repair the various problems I was having with my VW Jetta. I turned to Eliot's first as he had great reviews on the internet, boy were those people wrong! He was rude, dishonest and tried overcharging me ($500 dollars for a mass airflow replacement?! Insane) just because I am a female that doesn't make me a dope to being taken advantage of. I left there discouraged that all mechanics in the city would be dishone... read more

Competent and honest – I took my car to Andres Auto for a second opinion after I had a bad experience with the dealer which told me the headgasket needed to be replaced due to an oil leak. Well it turned out that the oil leak was coming from a oil filter adapter Not The Head Gasket. Also the prices were much lower than Perillo.

AVOID – took my car in for inspection/brake work. They said to replace all 4 brakes, pads, rotors, repack bearings, etc. OK. they made my car worse. instead of replacing as the bill indicates they ground down my rotors and warped them worse. after 5 mins of driving, all 4 wheels were burning hot; you could see the new grooves cut in rotors. They said that i need new tires and an alignment. the car is in worse shape than before i took it in and i am poorer. i could go on but...

Great Mechanic – We took our car to another shop, they said there was nothing wrong (despite the fact that the engine would die when it idled). We took it to Andres Auto Repair. Luis took a look at it and was able to fix the problem quickly without any hassle. I'd strongly recommend this place to anyone.

Great Customer Service – I took my car into Andres and worked with Luis! He was great. He was very helpful and was able to diagnois my problem very easily. The shop fixed my car super fast and it has been running great ever since. They were also more than reasonable in terms of price. I would take my car there again in a second! Great local spot! I would recommend them to everyone!
