Disregarded my pain, never ordered imaging. Another doctor's office ordered a pelvis MRI and a hip MRI ended up have a torn iliopsoas and avascular necrosis of the hip. He's a joke of a doctor and really could care less about helping you or finding the root of the pain. Thank goodness I got a 2nd opinion after 5 years of iliopsoas pain and him writing me a script to work on my core at PT
I waited for months for a visit with Dr. Laufer due to my unique anatomy and health problems. When I inquired if he had much expertise in my type of condition (which I was told by the pain team he did)his answer was a shoulder shrug and a "I guess so". Once i got into the office for an exam, it quickly became apparent that he had not even looked at my file. I have been experiencing excruciating pain while I sit since 2020 and after my pain management Dr from OrthoNY was unable to determine the cause, he referred me to Dr. Laufer, his mentor, with hopes he could help. Not only did Dr. Laufer show no signs of compassion or sympathy, he did not provide me with a cause or reason to this pain. Dr. Laufer is straight forward, extremely knowledgeable and just an awesome person. He spent a full year detoxing me off of an implanted pain pump that had been overmedicating me for years....he gave me my life back! He was patient and kind and encouraged me throughout the journey. Although he may seem a little cold when you first meet him, he's just very honest and frank.
