If you're a Veteran and need "help"(you name it) this is your/our "Safe Place", "Go To", "One Stop Shop"!! You'll be met with dignity and respect and treated like your need(s) is/are their #1 Priority!!! If you're uncertain, just walk thru the place and feel "IT" - the PRIDE TO SERVE for yourself!!! Note: I believe that the only service they don't provide is an ER. Lastly, getting/having a Health Care provider is a must - and YES! they're also THERE and a must have!!
I am alive today because of the care and respect I have received over the last 20 plus years. The staff I’ve been treated by have all been very professional and caring every time I’ve needed medical care. And that has been quite often over the last 20+ years. Thank you to every one of the professionals I’ve seen and been treated by over all those years. When I needed medical attention, it was available. Thank you to all the VA medical team members, from the bottom of my heart, which is still working, incidentally!
It appears we are profiling individuals who are military spouses. Let me clarify my situation, which began at 6:18 am when I walked out from inside the base due to my car breaking down. Since there is no bus service within the base distant, I had to walk 2.9 miles from Fort Richardson to the VA clinic near Muldoon Gate. Upon arriving at the bus station at 6:18 am, right next to the VA clinic and bus 25 stop, my asthma began to act up due to the cold air, making it difficult to breathe. The motto at the Anchorage VA Clinic is "if we don't meet your standards, lower them". I thank God that I am healthy because if I had to rely on the people who draw paychecks there, I'd be dead already. When I return a call from "community care", nobody answers the phone so I am re-routed to a call center in the Lower 48 states and usually end up #70+ in line to speak with somebody.
