I have never had issues with Ameristar to the extent that I would say stay away. There are pros and cons to every property management company. If I ever come back to the Hampton Roads area I would rent from them again. Pros: I really liked my property manager. She was upfront about maintenance issues and responsive. My AC broke in the summer and while I had to wait a bit to get it fixed, I had a whole new HVAC unit put in. I expect it to take a while if you're replacing the whole HVAC unit. I would gave 0 stars if I could. Due to military obligation my family had to move to different state and we were looking for a home. I seen this beautiful home and this company had it for rent. We had the worst property manager in history!!! We would call to get things repaired and she wouldn't call back. In the middle of the summer the a/c went out and we had to sit in 90 degree weather for 3 months with no a/c. I feel bad for the owner who is paying this woman because she is getting ripped off!
