Exceptionally wonderful small boat! It's fun, stable, and gracefully fast on the water. The hardware on the sheets are amazing with a jib and main. The motor mount and swim ladder make the day so easy. It can seat my family and our older kids are having an absolute blast. This company is good to work with and they know their business! They gave us an orientation to the boat at their workshop and gave written instructions. Nice experience. In a few years, we might consider buying the larger model new from them. Very sweet.
This place is amazing, my wife and I bought a used American Sail a few months ago and have been slowly replacing parts as needed (the boat is over 20 years old and still in great shape). I ordered a gooseneck assembly online and a couple days later received a phone call to discuss the part I needed; turns out, I only needed just part of the assembly and was given instructions on how to install the new plate with some of the old hardware still intact-they saved me over 100 dollars regarding repair. If you are looking for a day sailer American Sail it. The owner Dave will walk you through the process step by step. He has said a number of times he doesn’t have customers he has friends buying boats and that is how he treats everyone. We purchased a 14.6 boat and couldn’t be happier with it. Got it at the end of the season so looking forward to lots of sail time next spring. Very hard boats to find used because people hang on to them so we purchased new. American Sail builds a quality, small but stable sailboat. I owned an American 18 and when I needed a few parts they had everything I needed ready when I arrived. Great service!
