Today you held a blood drive at the school I work at. A 16 year old girl returned sobbing. She was told at 5'4 and 115 pounds that she should "Go eat a couple cheeseburgers and fries and to come back next year!" One of your male workers made this comment. This is not ok.These are children. How you speak to them can do damage. Do better Red Cross Blood drive workers.
First time giving platelets. Staff was great, I was surprised the saline added caused the chills but I loved the warm blankets
The staff at this Red Cross facility have proven time after time to be efficient, thorough, and very personable. The building is easy to find and parking is abundant. My whole blood donation intake, time taken to donate blood, and 15 minutes of beverage/snack time to begin rebuilding fluids and calories typically takes 40 minutes, often less. This Red Cross center is my preferred donation location for all of those reasons.
