I was able to donate whole blood and found out my blood type was A+ about a week ago. According to my research, A+ blood can be useful for platelet donation, so I scheduled an appointment today around 2:00 PM to donate platelets. I was initially told that I couldn't donate platelets, but the staff member didn't explain why and walked away when I asked for clarification. Usually cancel my appointment since they don't answer their phone calls.
The tech who helped me today was very helpful and quick.
I've been donating platelets here for many years. The staff and volunteers are always very courteous and friendly.
