Stop saying that you need blood, not one single drive that I looked at had any available slots so if you don’t need blood stop asking for it because people are not going to take you seriously

I can’t say enough good things about the nurses who took care of me during my platelet donation yesterday. Stellar!
It is so nice knowing that they are super careful about the health of their donors. They have to be careful because of the patient who will receive the blood. What may seem like they are too cautious it is because they are protecting the recipients who will receive the blood.
Staff was friendly and efficient.

My daughter just tried to donate at the Oakland University blood drive and was turned away. She drove for 40 minutes and waited a half hour. She passed everything and then coughed ONCE. The phlebotomist asked her if she was sick and she said no. She was just at the DR last month for a cough, it's allergies. Two of them looked at each other and laughed at my daughter telling her she couldn't donate. That was very rude and she was embarrassed. Nice people, comfy lounges. You can make your appointment on line, answer all the questions from home, and you're in and out in no time.
Not impressed with this site. They were as well organized as the Keystone Kops. Will not go to this Red Cross location again. We were there for several hours for a simple blood donation. Tom Z
