very kind staff that you can tell genuinely care about what they’re doing. i have extremely small veins and my donations here have always been as painless & easy as possible (i am thoroughly impressed with their successful pokes and diligence lol). the staff checks up on you before and throughout the donation process to make sure you are comfortable and all of your questions are answered. plus there is a great waiting area for after your donation where you can munch on some yummy free snacks and have a juice box :0)
i went in for my first ever blood donation and had a wonderful experience. short wait. all the staff i interacted with were kind and answered all my questions. tiffany did a great job drawing my blood painlessly. when i got a little light headed and had to lay down afterwards multiple staff members checked in and made sure i was alright without making me feel more embarrassed than i already was, and i left feeling normal. great experience and great people
I have been donating for decades. I have watched the process degrade to the point where I don't have 2-3 HOURS of my time to contribute anymore, with an appointment. You are welcome to take my blood for a good cause but you are now wasting my time. The ultimate insult was signing up for the Specialized Donor program TWO MONTHS in advance, taking the day off from work and then having you cancel on me THE NIGHT BEFORE. Screw this. I'm going to Bloodworks NW.
It's crazy that my phone gets blown up with requests for blood donations through calls and emails on an almost daily basis. What's wild is this isn't the first time a bigoted ww change my personal medical information without my knowledge or consent. If you want to get outed, side-eyed, and treated disrespectfully, know THE AMERICAN RED CROSS HATES LGBTQIA folks.
