American Really is a terrible management company. They do everything in their power to slap fee upon fee to the tenants. Their autopay feature works fine until they add extra amounts to the account like a water bill then hit you with a $50.00 late fee even though autopay is set up. This company took over 2 weeks to fix our furnace during winter at our apartment and brought over 5 electric heaters to keep us from freezing, but offered no compensation for the spike in our electric bill for their delay in fixing our gas furn... read more
RecommendedI recommend Property Management because they are true professionals who bring a positive drive to there job.If there's a citation they handle it correctly.I believe in these people.What a team.
The communication skills of what has been needed throughout my renting experience has been inexcusable. I get emails explaining that I'm "weeks late" on information that was never asked for in any agreements or communication; finding out about deadlines the day they are to happen. Talking on the phone has been unhelpful and rather rude coming from the representative. I don't think I'd go through this company ever again.
They don't care about their tenants... They only care about getting leases signed to get their money. They don't enforce clauses in their leases and hide behind "at their discretion."
ZERO STARS DO NOT RENT FROM THEM
Property management can unfortunately be a contentious business. However, from my first-hand experience, American Realty always does their best to be fair in every situation. My friends and I recently moved into a like-new fully renovated house. We were actually able to move in a month early because of all the hard work American Realty did in preparing the house. As far as maintenance goes we were very happy. Maintenance was always prompt and when we accidentally broke a window they were quick to respond and charged a reasonable price. However, they take no responsibility for pests. Ants, mice, etc. This is clearly stated in the lease and somewhat reasonable since they can’t control the cleanliness of tenants, but less reasonable when you consider that the mice were getting in through small holes in the house and the ants were getting in through a poorly caulked bathtub. Horrible customer service and they treat tenants as though they are not trustworthy. The owner of our rental property was kind and fair and even waived some ridiculous fees this company put on our damages list, but their two Curtis Morgan clearly did not feel the same way about treating tenants with respect. Please do not use this company, they are on it solely for the dollar and they are definitely not interested in helping the tenants.
They give incentives for their tenants to write good reviews. Likely they are under 3.6 stars in reality (the rating at the writing of this review). Our rent jumped $500 in one year, and when we decided not to resign the lease they showed our house multiple times a day, often on Weekends, and in the evening.
