I had a Diplomate level certification awarded in 1998 and remained a member for years. I loved the magazine and the resources. This was such a great organization. What happened?
Find new leadership to restart again.
I just found out today, as I was attempting to update my credentials, that there is no way to contact the American Psychotherapy Association. I have held a Board Certified DAPA status for a number of years, and I felt proud of what I had thought of as an achievement. At this point, after reading the information provided by each of you, I am experiencing disbelief . . . amazement . . . and definitely other negative feelings to which I have yet to find the words !!! This organization is not responding to it's members.
I recently had a certification that expired with no notice from APA and tried to reach them. All contact info is disconnected and no longer in service. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau I can not believe the dollars spent with no regard for their members.
After belonging since 1999, there was no notification of them going out of business. I am stunned!
