Alzheimer’s Queensland (AQ) is a founding member of Alzheimer’s Australia and the largest Alzheimer’s Association in Australia. From its earliest beginnings in 1983, AQ has been working to empower older people, especially people with Dementia and their carers to maintain a socially valued life. My mother was a resident of Garden City Aged Care which is owned and operated by Alzheimer's Queensland from September 2022 to October 2023 (date of her death). The quality of care my mother received was an absolute disgrace. The deficiencies in the level of care provided included: - Failure to provide any wound care for an existing pressure wound/sore for a period of at least 39 days which lead to the wound developing into an UNSTAGEABLE/STAGE 4 pressure injury. - Failure to provide regular pressure relieving procedures - L... read more
