This could possibly be the best restaurant between Santa Fe and Colorado Springs. Everything is fresh, tasty and well prepared, with excellent service. I'd eat here a couple of times a week if I could afford it, so it's pricey, but well worth it. Great wine selection. I recommend the Franciscan 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon.
Great food and great service! The tiramisu is amazing!
Food was very good. Service was attentive and food was served quickly. The one comment - the menu online stated that all meals were $25 except vegetarian which was $20. We were a little surprised when of the 4 of us at our table only one was charge $25 the rest were charged $30. We were not told that the items we chose were more than the stated online menu pricing.
A gastronomic extravaganza! Cuisine not expected in La Veta. Great patio.
We 3 dined in La Veta, Colorado at Alys' Restaurant. Alys Lippman Romer's restaurant is world class. It would be the top in any city. The food was wonderful, the service was top notch, & the ambience was warm & welcoming. #1 had salmon, I opted for steak, & #3 had chicken with lavender. Wish we lived closer.
We just got back from Colorado today and had a wonderful week!!!! We ate at Alys' twice this week and it was superb!!! Alys is absolutely delightful and her entire staff is the best ! We love to eat outside in her court yard which is adorned with all the beautiful flowers and the aroma of the grill cooking!!!!! We had a beef shoulder dish with wonderful potatoes and broccolini and then last night I had a half a rack of lamb!!!! We dined at ally's and were blown away , the food and service were excellent. I had heard about it but had all ways never had the time to go, what a waste off time. Next time I will not miss it again.
Duck. Kimchee. Rice. Peas. Best damn peas. Oh, and desert. Service, they understand what that means. Your expectations will be met.
