Not a place you want your kids around
Bed BUGS! Terrible! An elderly acquaintance of mine who is having a hard time right now, stays here and is so scared about his situation. He has no other options. But just because the Alva is a private business and affordable for patrons, this DOES NOT MEAN THEY BARE NO RESPONSIBILITY to maintain their location and the rooms they rent!! His room is infested with bed bugs. Please do not stay here or support them.
My stay at the Alva Hotel was profoundly disappointing, making it necessary to say this might be the worst hotel experience I've ever had. The elevator was broken, and the attitude of the hosts left much to be desired. I cannot recommend this hotel. Do yourself a favor and dont stay at this hotel ever in your life.
WORST experience anyone could have in Iceland. We arrive late at night and we could not find the hotel because it does not have a sign or a number to the building. You will not find it. We had to hired an independent taxi at 2 am to try to find it, after 1 hour going in circles. Then you need a code to enter, they do not send clear instructions.
