not bicycle friendly. they have one horrible bike rack waayyyy in the back of the complex right by the hole in the fence next to the wash. my bike was stolen while locked up away from my apartment. also paper thin walls. I was in a studio and was working nights. on my "days off" I might have a friend over to watch tv or game. No loud music or partying just watching cartoons and hanging out. If you love waking up between 0500 and 0600, every day to yapping chihuahuas or want partying neighbors, 2F2F wannabe hot wheels cars revving their 4 banger engines, people yelling at their kids, helicopters flying overhead because the cops are in the area for the 3rd night in a row, high rent costs, a terrible management and maintenance crew or several new door dings on your car, APPLY FOR A LEASE AT LOS PORTALES. Nothing but apartments with mold problems
I don't really appreciate having those Blue extremely hard to remove stickers plastered all over my vehicle just because I accidentally parked in a reserved parking spot area, i visit my friends here regularly and reserved parking spots are something new that you're doing and I didn't realize it at first that it was reserved so I was wrong for parking there but whoever is going around at night placing violation stickers on vehicles went too far by placing several and especially one on my windshield right in my line of vision... read more
they jacked up everyone's lease that renewed where we had to pay the full rate and later get a "credit" because they don't do refunds. the property manager instead exercising manners prefers to over talk and yell at you for trying to fix their mess up or asking for them to fix their error. wouldn't have renewed if I knew they were going to mess up contracts!!! don't come here. the paint job is covering old black mold. my ceiling has a huge water ring because the roof had a leak. the office is fake as hell. name any bug or de... read more

When you first enter the complex the staff's presentation is wonderful. The price seems right at first while the lights are on. At night as well as early in the morning you will notice that there are roommates that will NEVER leave that you have to pay for it and these happen to be the influx of Roaches that the apartment complex says that is extremely common. Occasionally they do have an exterminator yet the issue never goes. I don't suggest renting at Los Portales unless you want a 'step up' from living on the street.
All I can say is don't rent here. The apartment we rented was not in great shape and they wanted us to pay for the contractors mistakes uneven floors paint on the carpet door frame broken front door you had to throw your shoulder into to open and the balcony held water and started to mold!
