My parents had an appointment at Altamed Dental today with patient coordinator Jacqueline Gallardo to help my dad apply for Medi-Cal, and it was a terrible experience. She was late, didn’t even bother to greet them, and the first thing she asked was about his immigration status. Instead of trying to help, she immediately refused to assist him because of it. DO NOT GO HERE!! THIS FEELS LIKE DISCRIMINATION: My dad had the WORST experience here. First of all he had an appointment with patient care coordinator, Jacqueline Gallardo to apply for Medi-Cal for the first time. She arrived late and incorrectly stated that he could not even apply because of his immigration status. She refused to fill out an application or explain any eligibility options. I had a telehealth appointment at 9:20 am and I was waiting for the call and no one was calling. At 10:15 I decided to call on see what happened to my appointment. The dude tells me my medical isn’t active and he would sent a message to the clinic. I knew for a fact my medical was active and told him the name/medical id multiple times he could not get it.
