Al's Hamburgers

4.5

About this business

Even though the 50s are long gone, Al's benchmark burger, served Al's way, draws a whole new generation of fans. The lines out the door prove that, even in the 90s, a delicious double-cheeseburger is still in high demand. The crispy fries and grilled chicken breast are worth sampling, too. The casual decor and cheerful ambiance make this an excellent location for families. Many University of Texas at Arlington students also dine here for quality, affordable fare.

They've still got it. One of the best old school drive-in style burgers in town, no doubt. ETA: get grilled onions on your double-double. Seriously.

Al's started out decades ago as a drive-in/car hop/burger place. This present location, a dine-in restaurant, is still a hometown favorite with many selections, such as chicken fried steak, fried shrimp baskets, fried chicken and other delicious creations...yep, Frito pie, too! Speaking of pie...homemade deserts and delicious. My only negatives: closed on Sunday and no malts or shakes. Still, it rates 5-Stars from me. The french fries make up for the negatives. Check it out!
