I've been taking my stuff to these fellows since before they moved across the street! Great service, great knowledge, great prices. Can't go wrong if you still have vintage stereo equipment as I do -- especially my old Teac A1500W r-to-r which I bought in a Philippines PX in 1971 and they reconditioned to better than new!
Zaw likes to yell and try to intimidate you on the phone! Ed is not much better. Alan the tech that worked on it just changed a blown fuse, put in 2 LEDs and supposedly cleaned the controls. Seemed ok for a few days but all the problems have returned with now all 4 VU meters flashing with buzzing with crackling across all 4 speakers on power up! Zaw, Ed and the gang are very knowledgeable, helpful and courteous. You can tell that they have a true passion for audio and audio tech. They repaired my old high end Denon S-10 and I swear it sounds better than new. Tuned up my Linn LP12 and gave me a great deal on an MC cartridge from Zaw's extensive collection. Sounds terrific. I would not go anywhere else for "good as new" repairs and shopping for vintage equipment. Clint C.

They helped me find the proper stylus for an old 1983 turntable. I couldn't believe I didn't have to order one online and they had it in store. Very helpful!
Today was the second time I have been to Alpha Tech. First time was just a visit to talk vintage stereo equipment. Met Brian and he took me through the shop and showed me all the beautiful vintage equipment. He told me what to look for to match my tastes. This week I took in a pair of ESS speakers I found on Craig's List, had them cleaned and tested. Price was reasonable and fair.
