Not worth near the price, felt like a cheap motel. And it isn't cheap! I stayed on the 5th floor, and there were a lot of cosmetic issues that were very noticeable when you first entered the room. The ceiling had water damage and looked very run down, the wall paper was peeling, the carpet felt oily under your feet (made me not want to walk barefoot in the room), and the AC unit in the room was sub par. We are staying here because our young daughter has an early morning procedure at UNC Children’s hospital. We arrived later in the evening and yet to have dinner. The bartender Derrick (not sure if the name is spelled correctly) invited us to sit with our daughter and recommended a nearby pizza place. But it just wasn’t the recommendation….we placed our order and he offered to pick it up for us and bring it back to the hotel, and did so as soon as we got the notification that it was ready. Had a great experience staying here! It’s in a great location — close to UNC’s campus, and the walk there is a bit long but really enjoyable. Big thanks to Kay at the front desk for being so friendly and helpful with any questions I had about the property. Overall, I had a wonderful stay and would definitely come back!
