In a city full of good food and drink this is a chocolate shop find. All the pieces are wrapped in pretty foil paper and they have unusual flavors like cardamon and raspberry. Employees happy to sample. I recommend you buy a bunch of chocolates and give them as gifts. Good quality and look great in a bag or box.

Citysearch Editorial Review – Chocoholics with gourmet taste slip into this sophisticated confectionary and cafe in search of handcrafted chocolates as exquisite as they are melt-in-your-mouth satisfying. Every corner of the jewel box-sized shop feeds chocolate obsessions from shelves stocked with artisan chocolate bars and Alma’s gilded gold chocolate icons to a front counter case displaying exotic bon bons and chocolaty baked goods like a seductive espresso brownie or a buttery cookie studded with hazelnuts, cherries and c... read more

Amazing! Amazing! Amazing! – Skip all other chocolates. Go here. Don't worry about the calories, just enjoy the best locally made chocolate...perhaps, the best chocolate in the WORLD. The chocolate covered figs (stuffed with blue cheese) are to DIE FOR. Get there early, they sell out!

salted caramels – By far my fav chocolate, and that is saying something since I am a freak about chocolate. Salted caramels.......... fanciful molded chocolates covered in pure gold leaf.......... great for gifts. I love Alma!

delicious confections and freindly staff! – this place is great, from the moment you enter -where the chocolate aroma envelopes you-until your purchase is artfully boxed, wrapped in ribbon and given a beautiful tag. I'm psyched that now it is also open on Sundays so i can visit more often! a true gem of a place, small and intimate, yet containing delicious treats from around the globe!...and don't get me started on the drinking chocolate!! outrageous deliciousness!!

By far the best chocolates in Portland – And I know chocolate!!! I first became addicted to Alma while frequenting the Portland Farmers Market and was delighted to discover that their store location is walking distance from my house. The lavender infused caramel enrobed in dark chocolate and sprinkled with sea salt is my favorite treat ever! The store is very small and interesting with gold gilded dark chocolate religious icons (no focus on one in particular), solid chocolate bars from around the world and that case full of ... read more

Editorial Review by Annamaria Pardini – A jewel box of a confectionary creates handcrafted chocolates from fresh, fair-traded, organic ingredients and without preservatives or artificial flavors.
