1 star is for the ZERO stars I can provide. Where do I begin. This was a referral from my primary care doc on specific tests needed for me to take to be able to identify issues with med allergies etc. I had set my first appt when they reopened after lunch only to wait over an hour and 15 minutes sitting in a room as a first-time patient.
I also was instructed to stop taking vital meds for pain and sleep for a week to perform these tests and reverified with staff myself on the testing to be done after getting instructions since I concerned that it would be a very awful week. A week full of sleep deprivation and pain!
Imagine my shock when I was told by the doctor, we would NOT be able to do any testing at this time and I would have to come back at a later time but that one of the tests requested was not necessary. When asked why I was made to suffer for a week I was told that can happen due to staff not understanding what tests they could do and it happens. Apparently verifying this with staff to ensure would could was fruitless!
I also do not understand how an allergy doctor cannot test or not prepared to test for a specific thing requested probably because it was clear to me both the nurse and doctor had not reviewed the file from my primary prior to appointment since both inquired "why I was there" and a document needed for review was not available because again it was not reviewed or asked for me to have on hand or send over despite asking staff . Check the referral instructions!
I have no confidence in this practice and left very upset and delayed in my treatment with my primary. I found out my bestie had a horrible experience with this practice and physician. I wish I had known to not waste time, money and suffer for no reason only to have to restart is UNEXCEPTABLE!
Advise to practice when asking a patient to stop taking there meds check first the patient records and procedures to be performed first. So unnecessary and unprofessional and not patient centric at all.
