This restaurant was once a hardware store and now it has been converted into a well-managed, neighborhood spot that serves American comfort food with a twist. On the menu diners will find sandwiches, burgers, panini and salads, however these are definitely not your mother's homemade meals. There are other standard choices as well, so don't fret, not everything is so eclectic. On Monday nights, check out their 'Backroom', where guests can hear live jazz, acoustic, open-mic, etc. after dinner.

Always a spectacular meal! Amazing food, the friendliest staff, great service and a huge beer selection. I would recommend Allen Street Hardware Cafe to everyone I know!
Absolutely fantastic dinner last night! Staff was great and the food was even better. Will definitely be back for more!
I've eaten here on numerous occasions and I've always had a fantastic meal. Recently, I've been bringing my parents with me and they rave about the food. It's always piping hot and beyond delicious. The staff is always sweet and accommodating and the prices are reasonable, especially if you consider the quality of the ingredients and the portion size. If you haven't been there before, make a reservation(it IS recommended) and get your grub on.
It's expensive. Seating is poor. Employees are not exactly friendly. The owner "Goldman" is notoriously a nasty guy, spoiled adult man child. We won't be returning. There are MANY bad reviews way before the latest FB blow up.
The article in the news sure didn't help the reputation of this establishment! The owner, management and staff should take a good look at the public perception they are creating and worry. Instead of bashing & blaming customers they should be trying to repair the damage. I can't imagine anyone, including myself who has never been there even giving consideration to this place. I have worked with the public for over 30 years. The one thing I have learned is reputation, great product and customer service are everything!!!
I have always had a great experience eating and drinking both beer and wine here. My favorites are the sandwiches, tasty and well done!
I love hip hop and fried chicken. Clayton always makes us feel at home . He reminds me of Bruce Willis. I am sick about the back room but I can get my groove on anywhere. I met the owner Charlie once . He was very accommodating. I love Saturday nights, great music and great vibes . They make the best Hennessy and pineapple's ever . Do not sleep on this place . Do yourself a favor and shake your bootys on down tonight. First drink is on me just tell them Mr. Negro sent you .
