Full confidence! Dr. Groebs had a good bedside manner. I found him to be kind and compassionate, kind of a fatherly person (but not old enough to be my father). He did surgery on my finger, which I hurt playing a recreational volleyball game, and it was bent. 6 months of physical therapy didn't help. Although not everyone is fortunate to have a great outcome, I consider my outcome very good. I have good range of motion and abilities. My finger will not ever be the same as pre-injury, but I'm so thankful that I can use it and... read more

I gave Dr. Groebs the benefit of the doubt after reading the reviews because he was recommended by a nurse who used to work in his offices. I read that he was unduly rough with his patients. He was with me, without explanation or warning, squeezing and pulling my arm seemingly without reason, and far more than the other 2 doctors I had seen for this injury. I read that he had poor bedside manner. He treated me with distain and distrust from the moment he walked in the door. Including accusing me of intravenous drug use and s... read more

Dr. Groebs came in and said that I would need surgery or my hand would be useless. He never asked how it happened, how I was feeling or explained what the surgery would entail. The rest of "my" appointment focused on my sister and her crooked fingers and how he could fix them. The medical record says that I was at home and missed a stair and broke my wrist. Actually, I was at Hobby Lobby at Valley Fair Mall and I fell backwards off a wet curb and landed on the asphalt road, and I extended my left hand when I landed. I asked ... read more

Dr. Allen Groebs is an exquisite orthopedic surgeon. He has performed surgery on my right arm on three different occasions. I broke my arm in a mountain biking accident back in 2003 and the surgeon, at the time, put a plate and screws into my radius. It was excruciatingly painful and it took a full year before I could even turn a door knob. I finally decided to get the plate removed in 2006 and that's when I met Dr. Allen Groebs. He removed the plate and screws, filed down a large calcium deposit that had formed on the top o... read more

My daughter had surgery on a shattered elbow was in constant pain. We went to Groebs a year later to have him look at it. The nerve was tangled up in the scar tissue and resting on the bone and a plate. Dr Groebs moved the nerve, removed plates and screws and she feels 100% better!! We should have found him for the first surgery. She is pain free!!! He is a great Dr and he has great bedside manner as well.

I like Dr. Groebs. I was referred to him from another hand surgeon. He was the guy that I needed to repair my injury. I never had any issues with bedside manner. In fact, we spoke several times at length about other things aside from injury and such. Maybe we just understand each other, as I am also in the medical field. Maybe it's the fact the when you recognize and accept that Dr. Groebs in one of the best surgeons around, (Isn't that what we are all seeking?), then other things that we think we might need become secondary... read more

Dr. Groebs is direct, which I like. But unfortunately, he is very callous and jaded. He was rough during exams. He pushed so hard on a finger he fused, that I was still hurting 2 days later when I saw my PT. The PT was upset..said that kind of force could cause permanent damage. He also yanked my thumb hard before surgery while my daughter was watching in the prep room. (She thought he was a jerk.) I have many more examples. With my hands still visibly swollen from surgery, he gave me unrestricted clearance to go back to wor... read more

Poor bedside manner. Abruptly dismissed my severe pain. Gave me a brace to wear at night. 2 months later, I had to beg him to do an MRI, because of the excruciating pain. They never called me with the results, and wanted me to come in for another appointment to get the results, which I refused to do. I finally found out I had an TFCC tear, which requires surgery. A cyct and arthritis. After having such an incredibly hard time with this Dr. I went to another MD for care & surgery. I am so upset!

My husband was in a severe bike crash with compound fractures in his hands and a shattered elbo. Dr. Groebs put him back together perfectly through hours of multiple surgeries. We would highly recommend him.
