Traded my car in a few weeks ago for a truck that I love. However I get a phone call saying I have to pay them $2,400 for the rest of the payoff on my trade in. The employee that was assisting me said I showed him a payoff on my phone (which I never did) I informed him that I didn't know the remaining balance on the loan. The employee never called the bank to get a exact payoff amount and just made one up just enough to get me in the truck.
