I came in to All Around Automotive on Nov. 5th, 2012 and had a diagnosis on my cooling system knowing my heater core was bad. The estimate for my heater core, radiator, thermostat, hoses, etc. was $1,474.12 and Jonnie said I had to have it all done at once. I said I didn't have the money to pay for it all to be done and she still wouldn't break the job into a couple of visits but offered the GE credit paperwork which charges 29% if you don't pay it within 6 months. Environmentally friendly, quality work and great service!! – I tried this place because they are in the neighborhood and eco friendly and I've been taking both of our cars here for over a year now. Each time I've been in, they are super friendly and not only explain everything, but patiently answer my questions. They've even helped with pick up arrangements to fit within my schedule and I've never had any problems with any of their work. Won't go back ! – They had my vehicle in shop twice @ 2 full days each time basically for diagnostics. I needed to call them repeatedly to check status (but it always seemed to be right before they were going to call me!). They apparently didn't have the knowledge to diagnose independently ... had to consult with outside repair to have the problem explained to them so they could explain to me. 1 1/2 weeks later, plan of action would have cost me over $1600 -- took to another facility, had it repaired the same day for $154 !!... read more

Best Car Shop In Town!!! – This shop rocks!!! I have been going here for almost 3 years now. As a girl who knows nothing about cars, they are very good at explaining everything to me. Great customer service, very knowledgeable, friendly and my car is always done when they say it will be. And the price is worth it!!!!! Never had a problem with something they fixed on my car. I will always go to All Around Automotive!!!!!!

Trustworthy and Affordable – I took my car in very scared about what was wrong with it and how much it was going to cost me. The lady there is very friendly and personable. She called me a couple of times throughout the day to keep me up on the findings and made an effort to remember and use my name in conversation, she also took the time to really explain to me what was going on with my car. Best in Portland for CAR REPAIR and MAINTENANCE!! – My husband and I have been very happy with all the services and professional staff at All Around for over 20 years. We have had excellent service and fair prices. We have taken all of our cars here for many services and Lube and Oils. We would suggest this shop for all repairs to anyone in the neighborhood and beyond. It's also a great neighborhood for walking and eating while you wait for your car.

Great shop ......... – I've been taking both of our cars here for the last couple of years. They keep you informed about what your car needs to have repaired rather then finding out that it's $500 more then what you expected when you pick it up. Friendly knowledgable staff too!!

excellent, fast service – My car was running fine, but wouldn't pass DEQ. They were able to help me right when I walked in, and then rescheduled for more work easily and quickly, working around my schedule. The repair involved replacing someone else's wrong part, which had caused the problem. They offered affordable payment options, and explained everything they were doing, detailing time spent on every aspect of the repair on the receipt. They inspire confidence-I'll be back!

Not worth the money – I took my car here because it's right by my house and my regular mechanic is way out in Sellwood. The first time was no biggie, they job was done right and done quicky, but it cost $80 for what I thought should have been 20 minutes of labor plus a $8 part. They explained to me that it was because they charge for diagnostics. The second time I took it in, though, they quoted me $500 for a new distributor cap and all the trimmings.
