My dog is chipped. Went missing. Contacted all local shelters, including this one, and nothing. I later see he was adopted out. How? When he has a chip and all you have to do is scan it!?!! Also why would you “neuter” and already “neutered” male who got fixed at Denton Shelter in 8/2017 when I got him!
They take in dogs that clearly have owners looking for them, disregard their chip or anything else that could lead to the real owners, then adopt them out for their personal gain. Praying the owners are able to get their dog back and also praying for the new family that is going to have what they thought their new baby taken from them. This place is completely unprofessional and unethical. Makes me sick.

I think this is a really nicely-run shelter. I was especially impressed that dogs get individual time in the little exercise yards. The staff is so friendly and helpful and really go above and beyond to answer your questions and help you find the right animal for your situation. We adopted our little guy from there and he's fabulous!
So very impressed with obvious love and compassion for the pets here. Impressed with quality of veterinary care provided--my new pup did not need a single additional vaccination after I brought him home and this is a rarity in my experience adopting from rescues and shelters
I’ve gotten both of my babies there. They are an awesome group to work with! Please pick your next best friend out of their group.
