If she will take you as a patient, use her! I love Heidi. I have used her as my vet since the 70's. I have had healthy cats, unhealthy cats and grooming. What a great vet. Long on compassion, loving and great care.
Wonderful We have taken all of our pets (6 in all)to Dr. Henstra for the last 7 years. She is very sensitive to the animals' needs and personalities and to our family's needs as well. She sees the whole picture. She has helped 3 of our cats recover from life-threatening illnesses. We feel like Dr. Henstra is a part of our family. We have seen Dr. Carillo on occasion, and she is wonderful also. We now drive over 20 miles to our appointments, but we refuse to leave them to find a more convenient location.
J.M. Dr. Henstra is one of the most experienced and knowledgeable veterinarian's I have yet to come across. My cat lived an amazing 23 years and kicked diabetes during her lifetime. Our dogs and cats have been treated with the utmost care! Granted I don't live anywhere near Alhambra, it's worth the drive to know you are getting some of the best care.
Best place ever! Dr Henstra is fair and loving. Dr Henstra is the best of the best. After spending way too much money at our previous vet, it seemed like our wallet would never be full enough for him. Hundreds of dollars and still a sick dog. Thank goodness for our referral to Dr Henstra from Beagles and Buddies, when we got to Dr Henstra, it was her CORRECT diagnosis that our dog needed. There was no reason to put him down, he just had pneumonia! A few more meds and he has been a healthy dog ever since!
Think Twice Before You Take Your Pet.Here! my dog charlie was set for his first vaccinations for parvo and distemper. the friendly, active, healthy puppy, won every ones heart that Friday morning. 4 days later, he was dead. i called the vet asking questions like why? what? and so on. the defensive vet had no compassion, or remorse! all i got was bad attitudes, and a laundry list why Charlies death could be MY fault! I regret bringing my dog here. He is dead Do yourself a favor if your love your beloved pet. These people have zero compassion, they are only interested in your money, and will over-medicate and incorrectly -diagnose the problem. I knew my dog was not feeling well. Dr. Carrillo told me my dog just needed intra-venous fluids and he would be okay. She said come back in about 2 hours because it would take that long to put the fluids through his veins. I would go no where else My friends and I have been going to Dr. Henstra for 7-8 years; She is terrific; she knows how to talk w/animals and their owners. I find her honest, direct and reflective; I have always felt confident w/her recommendations. I have recommended her and this clinic to my neighbors who now go no where else. We need more veterinarians like her. I've had the indifferent ones and she will never be one of them. Thank you, Dr. Henstra.
