I have been a patient for years with Dr Alexander Abkin and I cannot recommend him highly enough. I have always found Dr Abkin to be incredibly thorough, taking the time to explain the procedure and what can be expected during recovery in terms that was easy to understand. My wife and I are both doctors. THis practice is completely disorganized. No assitance. Lots of incorrect information. No preop instructions or direction. Complete mistakes in preauthorization. Hospital asked for multiple tests 2 days before surgery. Complete disorganization
Dr Abkin was amazing! Coming up on my 2nd year sleeve anniversary. Off all meds, apnea gone and blood sugar perfect. This surgery helped me be healthy again. Everyone from front desk, nutritionists and nurses were wonderful and caring. The classes they ran got me very prepared for the surgery. I highly recommend!
At 42 i was on 4 diabetes medications, a statin for cholesterol, maxed out on lipids medications, blood pressure meds... chronic back pain, sleep apnea, my heart rate was in 120 range... i was TIRED! Dr. Abkin and his staff are truly wonderful. They are friendly, caring, and always take the time to answer all questions. I had my surgery in Feb 2020 right before COVID 19 hit, so much of my recovery has been through virtual contact, but they have always been available by phone or FaceTime. I highly recommend Dr Abkin if you are considering weight loss surgery. He is awesome, and the surgery is life changing!
