After years of stomach issues my PC provider finally agreed to refer me to imaging where it was discovered I had a massive gallstone. I was then told there was nothing that could be done bc there was no infection and I would have to just deal with it. 3 weeks later with no other option I took myself to the ER where I was told the same thing as my PC told me but the ER Dr did give me a referral to Dr.Kontny. Recently I was admitted to Alaska Regional Hospital with acute appendicitis over the weekend. I came into the Emergency Room late Sunday night. I was seen within 5 minutes of coming in. The nursing staff and Dr. David Scordino were extremely attentive and helped with my pain, and I was able to get a diagnostic CT scan very promptly. At 79 years old, I was in a precarious position. I had a gall bladder surgery done by Dr. Kontny. My pain was immediately gone after my surgery. Dr. Kontny was able to see me immediately and was very thorough and compassionate. She explained the whole process and I felt very comfortable going into surgery with her. Dr. Kontny's staff is very caring and empathetic. I highly recommend Dr. Kontny as a surgeon.

I went to Dr. K because I could get in sooner than the other breast specialist in town. I'm SOO glad I did. She made me feel comfortable, she let me talk through all of my anxieties, she did an amazing job on my excision. Her MA is so helpful and kind. I did see the other dr I was referred to, HORRIBLE experience with that lady. She even told me "oh, just ignore it" when it came to my symptoms!! OMG. I'm happy I found Dr. Kontny and feel it was the best experience I could have had during this time.
