What happened over the years? I was maintenance at Alaska House! Years back! There were no bad reviews but a lot of praises. When something was needed, I was on it, and issues resolved.
Alaska House is a privately owned HUD Section 8 building with 100+ apartments. Front entrance is not ADA accessible because the buttons don’t work. The manager is cruel, and treats residents like prisoners. She does illegal things to make us afraid of being evicted, including almost-constant inspections. The super is supercilious and spends his days hosing down sidewalks, the parking lots, etc., or working with toxic substances in the basement, which is the only downstairs entrance to the building. The management is cruel. They treat residents like prisoners. The super is supercilious and spends his days hosing down sidewalks, the parking lots, etc. Or he’s using the leaf blower at 8 am. The building has pest infestations that have gone untreated for years. The community room is locked when management is closed, yet the house rules state that they are open 24/7. Our 30+ pages of house rules are stifling. Our quality of life is besides the point!
