Prior to my scheduled visit I informed this dentist that I did not want the painful gum recession exam nor the deep cleaning because I already had it done at another dentist. The assistant proceeded to give panoramic mouth x-ray, then, the standard in chair x-rays. Akel then enters the room and proceeded with a visual inspection of my teeth indicating I had two cavities on one tooth that I do not have. The most mundane visit always takes at the minimum an hour. The sole Dentist arrives daily 10/15 minutes after the office is officially open and this marks the beginning of a day of chaos as he bounces through the office from chair to chair. Numerous times I have waited 30 minutes wondering were in the world he was. Clearly hes overextended his patient load at our expense. I lost my crown he did three, yes 3 separate times. Im done!
I’ve been a customer of Akel Dental for several years. I have always felt like I was in good hands and received great work. I am a happy customer. Thanks to Jennifer my hygienist, and also Jennifer in the office . Let’s not forget Dr. Akel . I highly recommend Akel Dental.
First and last visit here. They had me do a fancy Panoramic xray and then after the fact, told me it wasn't covered by Blue Cross. And then Informed me that regular xrays were to be done. So I had their receptionist come and explain it to me. The Dr comes and checks me out for maybe 5 mins. And then says, we will see if we can schedule your cleaning.... The very last time I was at this dentist office was to get the last crown put on and then he tells me I need a partial in front well at my age I don't care about gaps in my smile, but no matter how many times I declined.. they just kept pushing & pushing this partial off on me even though I was not about to pay for some overly priced piece of plastic.. had one years ago, hated it.. don't want another one ever, these people DO NOT take No for an answer.. so keep that in mind if you pick Akel as a dentist and be prepared to di... read more

I arrived at my 9:00 am appointment for them to tell me that I didn't have an appointment until noon. I had my friend take a picture of my card that shows the date and time to be 9 AM and they were indifferent about it. They said they could probably squeeze me in at 10. Which they did but there was no apology for the mixup and this isn't the first time. A week ago I showed up for my 1030 appointment for them to tell me that on they had an emergency and I would have to wait in my car for an hour. I understand emergencies happ... read more

Rude. Only the hygienist, Jen, was nice. Everything else was attempt at up-sell, even mouth moisturizer which my insurance wouldn’t cover and I found out from the company isn’t really much of anything. Told me if I didn’t like their requirement for “deep cleanings” and x-rays (I already get free ones once a year elsewhere) that I should go.
