Beautiful place,Hostess were on their phones Server was nice,though not ever knowledgeable about the menu. Ordered the Prime Rib Special, my husband the chicken Fettuccine. Salad, 3/4 iceberg, dressing, bottle, the "Stuffed Mushrooms " the filling tasty,dry and WAY to much cheese. Entrees,Pasta dish,pre-made sauce,cold chicken,threw the questionable sauce on. We've been here a few times, and will definitely be back. Our server Ashton was friendly and attentive. The steaks are obviously top notch, but the real reason to eat here is the lobster bisque. It is seriously as good as it gets...amazing flavor & texture, plus some lobster pieces addded on top. I had the shaved prime rib sandwich. It was messy, but delicious. Love the food, service is always amazing! I just don't get the lighting in this place, it is so WHITE Florescent and it is really blinding. It seems worse when sitting in the booth.
The atmosphere, the service, and the food are just incredible at AJ's. There's a lot of choices in the Des Moines area to eat, but this is your place. Everything is exceptional here.
