Best sushi in the area – Being new to the area, I haven't really liked much of the food that I've tried. I randomly stumbled upon Ajisai and was pleasantly surprised actually! You can tell the sushi is very fresh, and the employees are genuinely friendly. The atmosphere is intimate and relaxed, prices are reasonable and the chef knows what he's doing. Highly recommend it.
Best Sushi, Great Price – Ajisai has extremely fresh sushi. It is the one place my relatives (several from different cities) insist on visiting when they are in town. As it is in a small unadorned spot next across from a car wash, I expected very little and was wowed into it being my "regular spot." I sit at the bar each time so know Shoie (the owner/chef) - he is Japanese and I have been at the bar when his mother was visiting from Japan (i.e, buckfifty must have this place confused with somewhere else). I love the halibut ... read more
Tasty food, tasty ambience – Dunno about "Buckfifty" saying that the owners are Thai (not that it makes any difference) and bitches about the "all you can eat" fare. Chef/owner Shoei is real Japanese and, to the best of my knowledge, has NEVER offered all-you-can-eat sushi. For my taste, between the price and quality, it's one of the best in the neighborhood and way more intimate than the ... read more
worst sushi – this place stinks the sushi tastes soo badd itt"l make you sick for weeks!! place is over runnned by thai people how do thai people know how sushi tastes like>>>all you can eat???be cause ittt tastes soo bad!!!
Business response:
You've got a wrong place to write review . This place never have "all you can eat". and there isn't Thai people working. So you should take this review away right now. You are very excuse. you watch carefull.
Always a great meal! – Very consistantly good and fresh. Small room so service is great and the Sushi chef makes everything with individual care and loving. All the standard fare is good, also live sweet shrimp, live scallop, etc. Try some of the unique specials, such as his version of Biscotti, amazingly delicious! I love his smoked salmon as well.
Best Sushi Restaurant in Los Angeles / Traditional with a few fusion kicks and some house specialties you won't find anywhere else!! – I am not saying this is the hands down best sushi in LA, but it is certainly the only sushi place I have continuously gone back to no matter where I move in the city. The fish is always fresh and prepared by the owner, whose wife cooks many of the hot specialty dishes in the kitchen. Mr. Shoei is a jazz aficionado and plays great music over the modern but subtle stereo system. Expect a lot of... read more
