I noticed a faint burning smell the first time I turned on the heat this October, which really worried me. Leo came over for a furnace cleaning and found a layer of fine dust on the heat exchanger. He vacuumed everything out and checked the safety sensors to make sure they were still responsive. I noticed a slight metallic smell in the air whenever the heater first turned on in the morning. Owen performed a furnace cleaning and found some old dust and debris in the combustion area that was causing the odor. He cleaned the entire unit and also performed an air duct cleaning to remove any lingering dust from the vents. The smell disappeared immediately, and the heat feels much cleaner and more consistent.
