I have a Direct Air side discharge AC unit that was sold by Air Heat Acarborough and installed by a small-time contractor in summer 2021 The unit was installed in 2021 and the condensor stopped working in July 2023. The contractor disappeared (which is not Air Heat's fault), however when I contacted Ryan at Air Heat Scarborough to fix or replace the unit, Ryan insisted that it was up to the Direct Air distributor (Powrmatic) to honour the warranty.
