When I called to set up the appointment, I said our water heater had stopped working but they did not ask what exactly was going on. So when the plumber showed up, he was assuming that he would be replacing it. I was pretty sure that the thermocouple just needed to be replaced, which I told him. So he called back to the shop and had someone bring out a new pilot assembly. The one that they brought was not compatible with our water heater.
