Highly recommend Dr. Somers. This was the second bunionectomy for both feet, the first done by an orthopedic 30 years prior. What a difference with Dr. Somers. Have had two other procedures done by him since. As far as I’m concerned, he is the best.

Lack of empathy with my post post surgery resulted in significant bone damage resulting in 8 additional surgeries by an orthopedic surgeon to correct. Seek an orthopedic when having a foot surgery. You may be safe if he is simply cutting your toenails.

Dr. Somers did a simple bunionectomy in 2010. I continually told him about the intense pain, for which he said, “Nurses are the worst at handling pain.” Meanwhile, the reason for the pain was that I developed osteonecrosis. I had two other opinions from reputable podiatrists and even a foot surgeon, who confirmed the diagnosis. I have all the documentation from each doctor and all of my surgeries. To date, I’ve had seven foot surgeries in attempts to improve the pain and correct the damage done by Dr. Somers. In two days, I’... read more

It could have been better. I was referred by my physician about a crooked toe. He came in, glanced at my foot and said surgery was about the only option. Asked more about side effects of one of the medicines I was taking and my work than he did about my foot. The entire visit was over in less than 10 minutes. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he had other things on his mind. Glad he has helped many patients, per reviews, although I am not among that number

Very experienced and excellent doctor. Knows more about feet than an orthopedist because he specializes in only feet. Can get in touch with him when needed. Down to earth and very caring and patient. Many years of experience. Highly recommend.

I would highly recommend this doctor. I've actually recommended him to people living outside of TN!

Dr. Somer's is terrific! He got rid of my heel spur and I can walk again. He shattered it with sound waves and it was very successful. He has a great personality and is very good at what he does. I didn't think much of the ladies that work in his office. Not one of them even smiled. Not friendly and not rude. They sort of were like unfeeling robots....sorry.
