It makes me mad to read reviews that are not fair to business owners. I have been going to the Advance German Car Specialist for over two years and I could not be any happier with the results and the way my car performs. I used to go to the Audi dealership to have the maintenance done on my car, until I found this shop in San Pedro. The owner is a very genuine guy. The worst shop I've ever dealt with. Beware of the owner, he's just going to find expensive repair items that really don't need repair (Yes I'm taking this guy to court). Not only did they charge double for work that wasn't needed (Where's Chris Hanson from MSNBC when you need him) something which I verified with a 3rd party repair shop (For example, charged for removing the fuel tank and the fuel sensor both of which come out together), but they wouldn't check the sending unit after repairing it (the Fuel Gage wouldn't read... read more
On alternators their is a "core" value to the unit. If it is not returned to the manufacturer the core value is charged to the auto shop. That cost is of course passed on to the customer if the old part is requested. $80.00 is an average core value and I would not consider this overcharging by anymeans. Most customers dont understand or believe this charge, but it is true!
