I've been rowing my Vermont Dory on the river for two years now and can say this is the best darn rowing boat around. It's light, very stable, and tracks like a dream. The design is real perfection and the quality is unmatched in any boat I've owned. I enjoy workout rows as many days as I can manage and you can really get this boat moving. I also use it for my nature photography and couldn't ask for a more stable, roomy, stealthy boat. It's so quiet, the herons rarely see me coming! This looks like a great company + I've talked to the people there and they have a lot going for them, including community mindedness. Not to mention they are fantastic craftspeople.

I've enjoyed my Vermont Dory very much and it is very seaworthy and fast having crossed the Barnegat Bay from mainland to Long Beach Island at Barngat Light and return with a stern northeast wind.

These boats are an extraordinary combination of design, performance, quality of construction and durability. Doesn't get much better than this!

Stable, fast, easy to row or paddle. The construction and attention to details are fabulous. We row about in Illinois, Wisconsin and Minnesota on lakes and rivers including some fast kayaking waters and have felt safe and secure. Many folks track us down both on the water and off to have look-see at this beautiful Adirondack Dory. We went for the trailer option which is fabulous and makes loading and unloading very easy. The custom cover is a must as it keeps the Dory clean and dry. Money well invested.
