If you aren’t ready to be judged, treated for things that you don’t have, be ready. And you have to wait quite a while to be seen. She insulted my intelligence so bad. I have 3 chronic illnesses/ rare diseases…and this doctor told me “you need to learn how to use the pain scale”. I was referred for a procedure in 2023, I got the procedure in 2024 after what her office called staffing issues. I had a follow up after that, then more appointments. This doctor is horrible! If you are Black American, I highly recommend you go elsewhere. I repeat, do not put this woman in charge of your health. She has a disdain/ bias undertone, and it shows. I consulted with Dr. O about surgery (after being referred to her by one of her associates). She was all over the place, she kept saying things like, "oh I see you have fairly decent insurance”. After waiting an hour to be seen for an appointment I had for two months the admin proceeded to tell me I would have to wait to be seen another hour because Dr. O was running an hour behind. I asked to reschedule. The time frame given for a reschedule was for an appointment 4 months later!!! Terrible solution for something that was of the doctors doing. Not sure if the issue lies with Dr. O, IU Health or the office staff but terrible experience.
Dr Oshinowo is a life saver! She removed endometriosis that a previous provider had missed during a hysterectomy and listened to all of my concerns from day one. Dr O offers types of treatment for chronic pelvic pain that I never was offered elsewhere. I am currently 48 hours post surgery writing this review and I am highly satisfied with how the procedure went. (Everyone at IU was excellent, especially the staff in the operating room too).
