I used to be the associate director of the NYC Transit Riders Council. ActiveTrans is just the Chicagoland Bicycle Federation in a disguise. After years of getting no political traction demanding that cyclists not have to obey red lights and stop signs, they realized that if they pretended to care about public transit, they could elevate their far-left "mobility" message. I participated in Activetrans for over 10 years, and have ridden Bike the Drive since 2008. Sadly, things have changed, for the worse. The price this year went up to $70 per rider, which is a significant increase. Tshirts were NOT reserved for the riders who had purchased them, requiring each person to REORDER a tshirt after the ride and wait 8 to 10 weeks for their tshirt. This is not acceptable behavior.
